Maple Ridge, BC

Designed for year round operation this facility has been planned to accommodate conventional classrooms as well as provide flexible teaching environments suited to Year 2000 concepts. The school is conceived as a ‘village’ concept on an attractive river side site in the Kanaka Creek area. The ‘village’ character is achieved by grouping interconnected classroom clusters around common teaching amphitheatres. Each cluster provides a teacher planning centre as well as a mobile teaching cupboard for movement within the clusters. These focus on a central open resource and media centre which houses the library and computer areas.
