One of the largest complexes on the University of British Columbia Campus, the Forest Sciences Centre is Canada’s major centre of Forestry Research and one of the world’s leading research and education centres in this field.  It includes Forestry, Ecology, basic research, a major post-graduate programme, and a large under-graduate programme.

This Wood Science centre includes basic research, individual research labs, forestry research and high headroom testing labs, statistical research nuclear, radio isotope laboratories, chemical “safe” clean rooms, electron microbiology, basic research in earth sciences and Silviculture, ‘Centre of Excellence’ research labs for visiting scientists, computer centre, remote sensing laboratory (tied into satellite cameras), special project research laboratories, academic and “post-doc” offices, administration and departmental offices, classrooms, seminar rooms and large lecture theatres.
